How LHSC calculates its wait times
“Estimated wait to see a physician”
The most current estimate of how long it will take for non-urgent and non-emergent patients to be seen, from assessment by a triage nurse until they are seen by a doctor. It does not include time for specialized care such as imaging, or time in hospital if a patient is admitted. LHSC estimates it from data in its health information system.

About London Health Sciences Centre
London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is one of Canada's largest acute-care teaching hospitals, formed in 1995 when University Hospital and Victoria Hospital merged. It describes itself as southwestern Ontario's leading tertiary care and trauma centre, and is affiliated with Western University. Its three emergency departments are at University Hospital, Victoria Hospital and Children's Hospital, which shares the Victoria site.
LHSC posts an estimated wait for each emergency department: how long a non-urgent patient may wait, from assessment by a triage nurse, to be seen by a doctor. Its Children's Hospital updates that estimate every 15 minutes.
