About University Hospital

University Hospital is a hospital in London, Ontario. Emergency department. This service is open 24 hours a day.

University Hospital is one of London Health Sciences Centre's two hospital campuses, at 339 Windermere Road in London. Dr. Wilder Penfield officially opened it in 1972, and it merged with Victoria Hospital in 1995 to form LHSC.

Its adult emergency department has 32 stretchers, 20 chair spots and three resuscitation stretchers, and treats more than 55,000 patients a year. University Hospital is the Southwestern Ontario Regional Stroke Centre, with a hyperacute stroke unit offering clot-dissolving medication and endovascular thrombectomy, and LHSC's centre for cardiac care, with neurosurgery in house. Its critical care includes a 27-bed medical-surgical ICU and a cardiac surgery ICU.
