About emergency care in London
London Health Sciences Centre runs three emergency departments in London. University Hospital, on Windermere Road, and Victoria Hospital, on Commissioners Road East, are its adult emergency departments; Children's Hospital, at the Victoria site next to the adult department, treats babies, children and teens up to 18. Victoria is the Level One Trauma Centre for Southwestern Ontario and University Hospital is the Regional Stroke Centre.
LHSC publishes an estimated wait for each one: the time a non-urgent patient may wait after triage to see a doctor. It doesn't include tests such as imaging, or time in hospital if you are admitted. The most seriously ill and injured are always seen first.
