About emergency care in Manitoba
In Manitoba, live emergency department and urgent care waits are published for Winnipeg by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA). It lists four emergency departments, at St. Boniface Hospital, Grace Hospital and Health Sciences Centre (one for adults and one for children), and three urgent care centres, at Victoria, Seven Oaks General and Concordia hospitals. For each, WRHA shows how many patients are waiting to be first assessed, how many are being treated, and the time in hours between registering and seeing a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner. Hospitals outside Winnipeg do not publish live waits.
For health advice, or help deciding whether you need an emergency department, call Health Links – Info Santé at 204-788-8200 (toll-free 1-888-315-9257). Its bilingual registered nurses answer 24 hours a day, every day of the year. In an emergency, call 911.

Manitoba ER wait time questions
Why aren't Manitoba ER wait times showing right now?
At 12:50 pm CDT, no ER listed here had a current published wait. Winnipeg Regional Health Authority still lists them, so check each listing for whether it is open; this page shows the waits again as soon as they are published. If it is an emergency, call 911.
How are Manitoba ER wait times calculated?
Winnipeg Regional Health Authority publishes "Wait to see a physician, PA or NP": The time in hours between being registered and seeing a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner. Due to rapidly changing demands and the need to see the sickest patients first, WRHA notes that your own wait time may be more or less than the time displayed.
WRHA HSC Children's Emergency publishes "Wait to see a physician, PA or NP": The time in hours between being registered and seeing a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner. Due to rapidly changing demands and the need to see the sickest patients first, WRHA notes that your own wait time may be more or less than the time displayed.
WRHA Urgent Care publishes "Wait to see a physician, PA or NP": The time in hours between being registered and seeing a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner. Due to rapidly changing demands and the need to see the sickest patients first, WRHA notes that your own wait time may be more or less than the time displayed.
These measures can differ in their starting point and statistic. Compare estimates within the same measurement group. Patients with the most urgent needs are seen first.

How often are Manitoba ER wait times updated?
Providers publish estimates on different schedules. Our checks are separate from those updates, and the displayed number may stay the same after a check. Each listing shows its available timestamp; check the source-specific frequencies below.

|---|---|---|
| Winnipeg Regional Health Authority / WRHA HSC Children's Emergency / WRHA Urgent Care | About every 5 minutes | Every 5 minutes |
Is there a children's ER in Manitoba?
Yes: HSC Children's Hospital. Children's emergency departments see children and teens; adults should go to an adult or all-ages ER. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
Do all ERs listed on this Manitoba page publish wait times?
Yes. Every ER and urgent care centre listed on this page has a published wait estimate.
Should I go to urgent care or the ER in Manitoba?
Call 911 for anything life-threatening. An emergency department is for serious problems that need a hospital. Urgent care treats problems that are not life-threatening but need care the same day, and its waits are listed separately. If you are not sure where to go, call Health Links – Info Santé at 204-788-8200 for advice from a nurse.
