How BCHS calculates its wait times
“Average wait to see a physician”
The time between when you are greeted or triaged and the first time you see a physician. BCHS says 90% of its patients will see a physician in this amount of time, and updates it every 15 minutes.
People with the most urgent needs are always seen first, so your own wait may be shorter or longer. Brant Community Healthcare System’s definition
“Estimated wait for a new patient”
The wait time indicator is an estimate of the current wait time for a new patient. BCHS notes that the unpredictable nature of the clinic may result in longer wait times for individual patients.

About Brant Community Healthcare System
Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) was formed in 1999, when Brantford General Hospital and the Willett Hospital in Paris became its first two partners. With 330 beds, it is an affiliated teaching site of McMaster University's Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. Brantford General is the regional acute care hospital, with the area's 24-hour emergency department; the Willett provides urgent care and ambulatory services.
BCHS posts live figures for both sites. For the Brantford General emergency department, updated every 15 minutes: the average time to see a physician, the longest wait, the number of triaged patients waiting, patients triaged in the last hour and whether the wait is rising or falling. For the Willett Urgent Care Centre, staff post an estimated wait for a new patient and the number of patients waiting.
