An estimate for someone arriving now, not a guaranteed wait. It is not the total time at the hospital. Sicker patients are seen first. How Winnipeg Regional Health Authority defines it
The colours are set by us, not by Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. Under 2 hours is the Canadian goal for even the least urgent patients. cihi.ca

View all departmentsSt. Boniface Hospital is a hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Emergency department: All ages. This service is open 24 hours a day.
St. Boniface Hospital was founded by the Grey Nuns in 1871 as a four-bed hospital, the first in Western Canada. Today it is a Catholic tertiary care hospital affiliated with the University of Manitoba, at 409 Taché Avenue near the fork of the Red and Assiniboine rivers, and one of Manitoba's largest health care facilities.
Its emergency department sees about 42,000 patients a year, over 115 a day, of all ages, with illnesses from minor to life-threatening. St. Boniface is the centre for the regional cardiac sciences program and a referral site for stroke patients and acute care surgery, so its emergency department plays a major role for those patients. Only patients seeking emergency care, and those with them, may use the Emergency entrance (South Entrance, near Taché and Goulet).

We do not have a current wait estimate from Winnipeg Regional Health Authority for this site. The latest update may be unavailable or out of date. This page shows the number again when a current reading is available. If it is an emergency, call 911.
Winnipeg Regional Health Authority publishes it as "Wait to see a physician, PA or NP": The time in hours between being registered and seeing a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner. Due to rapidly changing demands and the need to see the sickest patients first, WRHA notes that your own wait time may be more or less than the time displayed. We check it every 5 minutes. People with the most urgent needs are always seen first, so your own wait may be shorter or longer.
"Nearby ER wait times right now", at the end of this page, lists the nearest tracked sites with their current waits. These are the nearest facilities in our tracked dataset, not necessarily every local care option. A shorter estimate is not a recommendation to travel farther. If it is an emergency, call 911.
